Small Kitchen Renovation

This is the result of a 'light' kitchen remodel involving paint, countertops, new appliances and fixtures, lighting, and tile backsplash. Here's what we did: 

 

This is what we started with. 

 We removed the upper cabinet, which was blocking the view into the family room. Wow, that really opened up the kitchen.

Next, we repaired the ceiling, painted the cabinets, brought in an electrician to update the lighting, and prepped the area for the countertop guys. 

There's the beauty shot again.

Notice: The stove is no longer a cooktop, the vent hood is now a microwave/vent hood combo, and the eat-bar area has been extended. Oh, and that sweet cabinet door modification with glass fronts!

Kitchen Sink Flashing Repair

This customer was having problems with water on the area behind the sink. 

Consider It Done Construction added a strip of flashing here to keep the water off the area.

Kitchen Floor Repair

 We found the floor had damage under the fridge.

 First we cut away the damaged wood, and repaired the area. 

 This is the repair; ready for vinyl. 

 But, of course the rest of the room needed to be prepped, too!

 Nice new vinyl where the fridge and stove belong.

Water Damage Under Dishwasher

 This is the damage Consider It Done Construction was hired to fix.

 We cut out the damaged wood, then replaced it with new wood. 

 The area was then prepped prior to installing new vinyl flooring.

Kitchen Stove Venting

This is where the new stove vent will be installed.

The area where it will vent to the outside.

Conversion to Study Area

This small kitchen was located in an upstairs loft area. It was no longer needed, so the customer wanted it removed.

Consider It Done Construction carefully modified the space to become a study area. If the homeowner ever decides to put the kitchen back, we left all the hookups and spaces for appliances and fixtures, so it would be relatively easy to do.

Vintage Kitchen Remodel

The owners were ready to renovate this kitchen. 

The first thing we did was to remove the damaged sheetrock. Underneath, we found vintage wainscoting. The home owner (with their designers' encouragement) opted for us to restore/preserve it. 

Consider It Done Construction painted, replaced the flooring, made the trims throughout, pushed out the sink area, replaced the sink, and replaced the counters.

This little cabinet to the right of the stove didn't fit.

We coordinated the construction of a new cabinet here. 

Consider It Done Construction replaced all the countertops with zinc.

We worked closely with our favorite designer, Kathy Hanson on this project. She selected colors, finishes, and various changes, and also advised on the renovation of the plate holder on the wall.

Space Saving Solution for Washer/Dryer

This was an unusual job because the customers wanted to find a place to tuck away their washer/dryer. The dryer is in the foreground of this picture, and the washer is around the corner in the kitchen on the other side of the stove. 

The customer wanted to remove the hot water heater, and then put the washer and dryer in the closet. The washer and dryer are just under 30" wide. The closet was 26" wide. A tankless water heater freed up the closet space. Then we moved the bedroom wall several inches. The new washer/dryer were plumbed and loaded through the bedroom closet.

Now, the customer can proceed with their planned kitchen remodel.

Dishwasher Install

 The challenge on this job was to find a place to install a new dishwasher.

 

We started by making a space to fit the dishwasher.

 

 After that, we were able to slip a dishwasher in the space we created. 

Sometimes, carpentry is more like art.
