Rotten Support Beam Replacement

Notice the knife stuck into the rotten part of the support beam? That beam has got to come out.

There it is, all fresh and new.
See the rot on the old beam in the foreground? It's good that's not supporting a house anymore.

New Double Staircase

Dry rot had claimed these stairs.

We re-designed the stairs so each step was of equal height. That's why there's more steps in the after picture. Oh, and Consider It Done Construction painted the house, too.

Custom Flooring Transition Strip

You have to look closely to see the work area: This nice new flooring needed a transition strip, and the available pre-made choices were either ugly metal or a vinyl that didn't match.

Consider It Done Construction made a piece of wood do the job. We milled the wood to follow the curved transition line exactly. We stained it to match the wood flooring, and now you almost don't see it at all. Which is an ideal application for a transition strip!

Door Becomes Window

The customer wanted this door to the roof eliminated, and a window put in it's place.

The carpentry goal was to match the exterior of the house.

Primed, and ready for paint. It will look great once the house is painted.
Of course the exterior is only half the job. This is the interior view before.
And, this is how the interior looks now. With a little trim on the floor, the evidence of a door here will be gone forever.

Stair Safety

Something had to be done here. This is unsafe.

As a cost-saving measure, just the broken step was replaced.

Concrete Pad

We're going to put a concrete pad right here.

First, we have to form it up.

When the concrete finishes curing, we'll take off the form, and it'll be ready for a garden shed.
